A very fine and rare 18K gold half hunter case quarter-repeating triple calendar keyless lever watch with moon phases, short chain and hardstone seal, presented by King George V of Hanover to the Surgeon-General of the German Order of Knights, Albert Ritter Mosetig von Moorhof in 1874;Retailed by Tessier, 362 Rue St. Honoré, Paris, no. 25'074, circa 1870;Movement: manual, 29 jewels, repeating with two hammers on two gongs;Dial: white enamel, days of the week and months in French;Case: hinged back engraved with the motto “Per Ardua ad Alta” around a coat of arms and beneath a coronet, gold cuvette engraved: “Georg V / König von Hannover, dem Ritter Mosetig von Moorhof / als Zeichen / unauslöschlicher Dankbarkeit / 1874”, signed by the retailer and numbered 25074, 55 mm. diam.;With: 18K gold short chain with hardstone double-sided swivel seal with monogram “AM”
