History of the Oyster Perpetual watch
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual is one of the most refined Rolex collections, with only three hands: hour, minute and second. Its steel case is water- and dust-proof and its movement is automatic, as the name Perpetual suggests. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual comes in several sizes, with models between 26 and 31 mm in diameter usually preferred by women and the larger models measuring 34 mm, 36 mm and 39 mm in diameter more often bought by men. Moreover, since 1953, the Oyster Perpetual features a winding crown fitted with the Twinlock® double waterproofness system that guarantees water resistance up to 100 metres (10 Bar).
In 1931, Rolex created an automatic winding system with a swing-out rotor: the Perpetual rotor.
Style of the Oyster Perpetual watch
An understated watch, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual can be worn by both men and women. Available in several different models, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual is a Rolex classic, like the the Rolex Oyster Precision, the Rolex Explorer and the Rolex Datejust.
Its value makes it one of the most coveted luxury Rolex watches on the second-hand market.
As with all watches available on Collector Square, Rolex Oyster Perpetual watches are entirely examined, appraised, checked and guaranteed for 1 year by our specialist watchmakers in our workshop. The movement is monitored to ensure its authenticity based on its reference and age. All our Rolex Oyster Perpetual watches are dispatched worldwide within 24 hours.
