An extremely rare, large and historically interesting stainless steel prototype of a waterproof chronograph wristwatch.Signed Panerai, Radiomir, Mare Nostrum, manufactured in 1943.With circular nickel-finished jewelled lever movement, monometallic balance, the dial consisting of two discs, the lower one coated with Luminor luminous substance visible through the cut out Arabic and baton numerals in the black upper disc, luminous hands, sunk centrefield with two punched white subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds and 45 minutes register, in large tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case with revolving blank bezel, screw back and screw down crown, two round chronograph buttons in the band, dial signed.52 mm. wide.View Lot Notes ›
