An unusual 18K gold and white ceramic self-winding perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch with phases of the moon and year indicator.Signed IWC Schaffhausen, Da Vinci, Nr. 1, case no. 2389358, movement no. 2411801, ref. 3755, manufactured in 1987.Cal. 79261 gilt-finished lever movement, 39 jewels, the white dial with applied baton numerals, four subsidiary dials indicating phases of the moon combined with lunar calendar, day combined with constant seconds, date and month combined with 12 hours register, eccentric window for date, in circular water-resistant-type white ceramic case with stepped bezel, engraved 18K gold snap on back, screw down crown, gold hooded lugs, two round chronograph buttons in the band, 18K gold IWC buckle, case, dial and movement signed.39 mm. diam..Pre-Lot Text.The following three lots, numbers 12 to 14, represent a selection of IWC's celebrated Da Vinci perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch model, introduced at the Basel Fair in 1985 as reference 3750..The majority of the watches were cased in yellow, pink and white gold or platinum. A small series of examples fitted with a black or white ceramic case, such as lots 12 and 13, was produced between 1986 and 1997..This legendary model is still in production today, available with a simple chronograph or a split seconds chronograph mechanism, different case materials and sizes.
